ABC – Arabi Barbecue Chicken, Adambakkam

Here’s a heads up to Chicken lovers ! One of my friends recommended this place to me and I instantly fell in love with it, purely because this is a Chicken-only joint, and they have 3 varieties of grilled chicken – Regular, Spicy and Pepper! So pretty much the focus is purely on Chicken and it showed.

Arabi Barbecue Chicken aka Arabi Sutta Kozhi is a hole-in-the-wall kinda place in Kakkan Nagar, the main road that joins Adambakkam and NGO Colony via Kakkan Bridge. Residents in and around Adambakkam must be relatively familiar with this place. There’s no dine-in set-up, at most, a couple of people can stand and eat, rest only stand in a queue to order.
I would recommend Take-away, or stand-on-the-road and eat types. Since it was grilled right in front of our eyes and was piping hot, it couldn’t get any fresher! I tasted a Quarter of Pepper and a Quarter of Regular. Both of them were served with some Mayonnaise, Kubboos, and pickled onions. I loved both, and badly wanted to taste the spicy variant too. Since I didn’t have company, I decided to have it another time fearing overdose of chicken and its after-effects 😉
A full-Chicken is 300 bucks, Half is 160 bucks, and Quarter – if Leg is 80 and Breast is 90. I was charged 150 for the two quarters I had, not sure why !
Next occasion, I would certainly go for a take-away!
