Chennai Restaurant Reviews

The Moon and Sixpence – Hablis Hotel, Guindy

The first time when I heard an Irish Pub opened in Chennai, about 5 years go, couldn’t wait to visit this place. Loved the ambience, exactly how I remembered a few Irish Pubs abroad. Since then, have visited The Moon and Sixpence in Hablis Hotel quite a few times, though not very regularly. I have liked the food and the collection of imported beers here.

A friend hosted a meet-up over drinks and I was more than happy to join. The place seems to have been renovated and rearranged a bit, we settled down near the pool table. Surprisingly, they didn’t have imported beers that I looked for – Murphy’s, Guinness, none of the Irish stouts were available. Settled for the known devil – Kingfisher Lager draught. We kept repeating the beers while munching on side-eats, and catching up with a lot of old times!  Finally finished with an Irish Coffee, loved that too.
We ordered Nachos, Paprika Chicken, another chicken dish topped with podi, Chilli Chicken and a few other dishes. Paprika Chicken was the showstopper, loved it! Chilli Chicken was very tasty. Didn’t quite relish the chicken topped with podi, it was okay. Nachos with sour cream was tasty!
Service was impeccable, literally there was a person who appeared when we thought we wanted something! This can be because my friend and his set of friends are regulars here, for a long time now.
The evening couldn’t have been any better. I would love to go back here anytime!
