Ratna Cafe, Triplicane – A name so well-known that it needs no introduction!
A completely unplanned dinner here today. Was driving through Triplicane High Road, and it was a horrible traffic jam and vehicles were moving inch by inch. Took me about 20 minutes and I did not even manage to reach Ratna Cafe yet, that’s when I decided it was enough ! Wanted to take a break and wait until the traffic died down. In the mean time, what better work to do than have dinner
Stepped into the restaurant, a basic non-AC place. I have been there many many years ago, and still looked the same. Ordered the traditional Idly Sambhar. As expected, 2 idlis and a Mug of sambhar
Tasted yumm! Sambhar vada was not available, so ordered 1 medhu vada and again the waiter bathed it with Sambhar, that was good too. Next was a Ghee Podi Idli and this came with chutneys Felt good to taste a bit of chutneys after an overdose fo sambhar. Finished it off with Filter Coffe and it was a perfect end to a wonderful dinner. I took my own sweet time and by that time, the traffic was better and so was I Headed back home after a lovely pitstop!All this cost me 157 bucks and it was absolutely vfm ! Please be informed that car parking is not possible here ! There is place for a few bikes, and the security helps to keep a watch on the bikes if you park them a little ahead on either sides.
