E. Sait Biriyani Center, Tambaram

Same starting point, but a different path today! Standing in front of the same name boards M. K. N. Madurai Idly Kadai and E. Sait Biriyani Center, as we did yesterday, we opted for Biryani today.   I have already been to their outlet in Chrompet, so I am aware of how their biryani tastes.

Ordered one Mutton Biryani, one Chicken Kuska (with egg), and one Chicken 65 between the two of us. The biryani here is very flavorsome, but at the same time quite spicy. The first few mouthfuls is a bit of a struggle and somehow you get very used to it subsequently. Generally all that people do not like in a biryani are found here – Tomatoes, irritants like cardamom and cloves in abundance. I was quite lucky to have spotted all of them before biting into it. No complaints with the biryani according to me. Friend said mutton pieces in his biryani were soft and succulent. The Raita and the brinjal gravy served as sides were tasty. Chicken 65 was a mixed bag. I do not like big pieces, and its a personal preference. Here, it was huge chunks and I was not too pleased. Pieces were soft, but still not as how I like it.
Being quite heavy eaters, in spite of the portion being quite good, we ordered another kuska and shared it between us. The waiter was quite surprised too. The service could have been better, rather more friendly. It was a bit too blunt, and to the point. He obliged us by answering one of the questions we asked. We couldn’t be more pleased ! 😉
Paid 430 bucks in all, and a pretty decent meal. According to me, definitely better than the very hyped new branch of Yaa Mohideen, but still falls short of the popular Biryani places in Triplicane !
