Orange Wok, Velachery

Its been quite sometime that I blogged about my eating out, decided to write again!
This time, it was a quick visit to Orange Wok, in Velachery. We had just about an hour and a half before meeting someone, and didn’t want to venture too far away from Velachery. Remembered Orange Wok in the vicinity, decided to give it a shot!

We entered around 2:15PM, and quickly ordered a Chicken Manchow Soup to be served one by two, Chicken Satay, Singapore Chilli Prawns and a couple of Bubble Teas – Caramel and Litchi. It took about 15 minutes and the dishes slowly made it to the table one by one. Chicken Satay took a while to come though. Taste was wonderful, the saucy prawns were good, Chicken Satay was soft and succulent, soup was yummy and the drinks pretty good.
By this time, we had already ordered the main course. Chilli Garlic Fried Rice, Mushroom and Baby Corn in Black Pepper Sauce and Phuket Fish was our order. It followed the Chicken Satay quite soon and we were fine with it. Again, nothing worth a slightest complaint. Food was very tasty, fish was awesome, the gravy complemented the rice wonderfully well and I relished it.
The only thing that left me unsatisfied was, the waiter could have been a little proactive in asking for a last order, perhaps for desserts, when the kitchen was closing. I asked for a Fried Ice Cream and he came back saying kitchen is closed. That was sad and could have been handled better. Otherwise it was perfectly okay.
Not to pick on small things, the waiters and workers need their time and happiness too, I totally understand, but when the guest is still dining, playing songs on a mobile and dining on the next table, somehow felt a little odd. I’ve seen this in marriages when you’re a bit too late, you end up in the same batch/pandhi(in Tamil, not the Telugu one) as the servers, just before they wind up. I’ve never had a problem with that, just saying, in restaurants I havent seen something like that.
The closing time on Zomato says its 3:15 PM, my payment was made at 3:16 PM, and we perhaps left in another 5-7 minutes. I think they could have waited for us to leave and then carried on with their activities. Not a complaint, just wishful thinking!
The food more than made up for these minor issues and i would gladly visit again ! Paid about 1.8K in all, and it was well worth it.

Posted some pics after editing on Instagram, here they are 🙂
