Chennai Restaurant Reviews

Shri Balajee Bhavan

Myself and my friend stepped into Shri Balajee Bhavan in Chrompet for lunch.  I have visited the Pondy Bazar branch quite a few times and liked the food there.
We walked into the AC dining hall and managed to get a two-seater table immediately.  My friend went with Special Chennai meals, while I opted a lighter version and went with the Tandoori meals (hmm..wondering if it was called something else).
The Chennai special meals was the ‘usual’ South-Indian stuff with poriyals, vaththa kozhambu, sambhar, rasam, keerai, 1 Chappathi, etc, while mine was little fancy stuff 🙂  It had 2 rotis, yummy paneer butter masala,  chilli gobi, raitha, curd rice, vegetable biriyani and sweet poha and sabudana payasam.  Both the meals included soup, but my friend got a banana and a beeda with his meal 🙂  Loved the food !  Yummy, no complaints at all!
The waiters were enquiring if we wanted anything more.  When my friend finished his chappathi and was sereved rice, the waiter promptly came and suggested that he should taste the paruppu podi 🙂  and poured a generous amount of ghee !  It was really good attentive service.
Would recommend this place for good vegetarian food and service.
