Madurai Kumar Mess, T. Nagar

After an average experience at Madurai Kumar Mess long ago when it opened next to Laksman-Sruthi near Vadapalani signal, never been motivated enough to go back there. However yesterday decided to check out their T. Nagar branch with a friend for a late dinner.

It was almost closing time, understandably so, only a couple of tables were still occupied. A friend and I quickly settled down and ordered Nattukozhi soup, Mutton Nenju Soup, Chicken Boneless Sukka, Kalakki (not too runny), Chicken Kari Dosai and 2 Parottas each.
Food was served in reasonable time. Initially was thinking if we should have ordered one by two of the soup, but when it was served, looked quite small in portion, good for one. The Naattukozhi soup was tasty, friend liked the mutton nenju soup. Chicken Boneless Sukka was yummy, Kalakki was just how I liked it, not to runny. Chicken Kari Dosai had decent amount of chicken pieces, but wasn’t out of the world. Parottas were superb with the chicken gravy, loved it!
We did ask the waiter if the parottas were small, to which he replied yes! It definitely wasn’t small. Anyone would know small would mean the size of a parotta in Courtallam Border Rahmath Kadai and not bigger than that. It was a bit too much so we had to waste almost a patotta each.
Except that, it was all good. Paid 935 bucks for a nice dinner! This has definitely changed my impression from my earlier visit! I’ll gladly visit again!
