Gandhinagar Club, a place I’ve visited a lot of times in spite of not being a member here. No prizes for guessing, it has always been for a catch up with a friend over a drink in the bar. Over the years, one thing that has remained consistent is the food that they serve in the bar, tasty and delicious.
While I was sipping on Rum, and friends were sipping on Whiskey, we ordered a few side-eats with the drinks. Crumb-Fried Chicken was the first to arrive. It was tasty and the dip served with it was yummy. Cocktail Fried Idli was crisp deep-fried mini idlies coated with generous amounts of idli molaga podi. It was crunchy and Ive always felt it to be a nice accompaniment to drinks. The coconut chutney served with it was good too. Since there was a Srilankan Food festival happening in the restaurant, they agreed to serve Sambol and Mutton Keema with bread Toast, at the bar. I liked both the dishes. Since I had to take a couple of important calls, I missed tasting Bittergourd chips and Cheese Omelette. According to me, Chicken Karandi Omelette was the star of the day! It tasted as good as it looked. We repeated the cocktail fried idlies and a few drinks while chatting up on a variety of topics.
Overall, a wonderful evening with tasty food, courteous service and even better company!
