Call me lucky or whatever, in spite of many complaints on various food groups since the time they started, even after umpteen visits, we have always returned satisfied!
Courtallam Border Rahmath kadai on G N Chetty road has been our place-to-go when we’re in T Nagar. Along with a couple of friends, I went around 10PM only to find the place packed. We were lucky, there was one table free. Gladly seated ourselves immediately.
We already knew what we were going to order because we’ve been here quite a few times and we were quite familiar with the menu. We ordered 1 Egg Kothu parotta, 2 Parottas each, 1 set Idiyappam, 1 Pichi potta Naattukozhi, 2 Omelettes, 1 Kalakki, 1 Rosemilk and 1 Basundhi.
As always, food tasted yummy. The gravy on the table was all ours 😉 poured it generously and ate the mains. Yeah, the parottas are small, but crispy, flaky and nice! Omelettes seemed like plain omelette, without onions or with too little, however we didn’t mind! Kozhambu Kalakki was good. Pichi potta naattukozhi was yummy, slightly high on salt as always, but tasty! All of us were quite satisfied and there was nothing worth complaining. The desserts weren’t in the plan, but seeing the people on the next table, wanted to taste rosemilk and basundhi. Seems like they procure it from somewhere, both were good.
Service can be a little better, but then it is not fine dining, you just have to ask something and you get it, that’s about it ! I wouldn’t complain specifically.
Overall paid 735 bucks, for a nice dinner! I would gladly recommend this place for tasty food if you’re in the mood for Parotta and Salna.
