We finished girivalam and after a good night’s sleep at Hotel Arunachala, we planned to have breakfast and then proceed back to Chennai.
We spotted this restaurant opposite to Nalas Residency, on the Anna Salai, close to the Taluk Office. It was quite busy, a lot of people having breakfast.
As we settled down, the waiter placed the vaazha elai on the table. It was quite a while since I are breakfast from a plantain leaf. Even once in a while, lunch is common, not breakfast.
Started with poori masala, my favorite. It was just made, piping hot, and the masala tasted yummy. Asked for Onion Rava Dosa and he said he wasn’t sure and will check. Most of the restaurants refrain from serving onion during the auspicious days. I was lucky, it was available. It was really a big one, and perfectly made. The three chutneys were absolutely yummy ! Vada was crispy and tasty ! Finished it with a Filter Coffee and it was brilliant ! I loved the food here and the bill came to less than INR 200 for two of us.
Just realized that there are really good places where you can get food for normal prices 🙂 Just that you need to be far away from Chennai 😉
