Driving back to Velachery from Kolathur, and on the way, somewhere in Anna Nagar, spotted this restaurant. The name Annachi Lalackadai was very different and got me curious to see what they had to offer. Sounded like a joint-venture 😉 Apparently, Lalackadai is just another name for a sweetshop I guess. Pretty much standard south-Indian stuff, some Chinese and snacks too.
Friend ordered Podi Dosa, I ordered a Kaara Paniyaaram and Onion Rava Dosa and filter coffee.
Kaara Paniyaaram was tasty and crispy on the outside, just like how I like it. Chutney to go with it was good too. Podi Dosa was spicy it seems, but ok. Rava Dosa was quite ok, would have liked it more crispy and brownish. Looked like the Tawa was not as hot as it should be. All chutneys served along with it tasted good. Filter Coffee was okayish. Came without froth and looked sad. After ‘aaththifying’ a couple of times, it looked better !
Kuzhi Paniyaarams were the highlight, otherwise I wouldn’t bother trying again!
