All of a sudden wanted to eat some non-vegetarian stuff and decided to order something. Anjappar recently moved from Velachery Main Road, on top of Nala’s Appa Kadai to a more spacious location on the 100 feet bypass road, and is one the the closest restaurants to my place. Called them up and since I was ordering from them for the first time, the guy took all my details and then the order. I ordered a chicken koththu parotta, Anjappar chicken dry, he suggested that to me when I asked for spicy boneless dry chicken, and egg podimaas/burji.
The food was delivered in less than 20 minutes, piping hot. Well packed, no trace of any spillage. I tasted the podimaas first, it was good. The Anjappar dry chicken was good, but there was a ‘dominating’ smell of chicken which is not very usual. I have eaten dry chicken in so many varieties in Chettinad restaurants and haven’t experienced anything like this. Chicken koththu parotta was yummy ! So one of the items was definitely a let down. 🙁
The bill was INR 367 for these items, 175 for chicken fry, 130 for koththu parotta and 55 for podimaas.
I will certainly order other items from them, but would avoid this specific dish. I have to mention that the guy who took the order and the guy who delivered the food were extra pleasant by our standards and that was very good !
