We ate here twice during our stay at the Wonderla resort. There weren’t other options nearby is one thing, 😉 but the restaurant was really good and the food was tasty. Woods is a multi-cuisine restaurant serving both a la carte and buffet. We had dinner buffet here and the next morning had the breakfast buffet which was included in the price of our room. The dinner buffet was a nice spread overall, and what caught my attention was the live counter for pasta and the desserts. Not very elaborate, but the desserts were kida cute 🙂 with mini glasses, nicely presented.
I started with spring rolls, chicken chettinadu dry, and baby corn fry. All of them were good. Spring rolls were very yummy. There was also fish tikka which my daughter loved. I dont eat seafood by choice, so skipped it. Then had some butter naan and roti with a paneer gravy. That was good too. Tried some tomato rasam in a bowl. It was tangy and slightly sweet. The pasta made at the live counter was good. Final touch to the main course with curd rice and pickle, just yummylicious ! Moved to the desserts, the mini dry fruit falooda was very nice. Chocolate pannacotta was ok, and the cheesecake was good, the brownie below it could have been a tad softer. They were so small, that you could easily eat more than one 🙂
Overall, the bill came to about 3.7K for 6 adults and 2 children and it was worth it.
The next morning, we were here for the complimentary breakfast, and the fine-dining image of the restaurant somehow disappeared 🙂 The restaurant was crowded, and after about ten minutes, we managed to get a table. The breakfast spread was also good, but essentially Indian. The bread slices, corn flakes and egg omelete were the only items to contest that it was continental. 🙂 The waiters were really stressed out and it was difficult to catch their attention. There was a live counter where you could order eggs as masala omelette or scrambled. For an omelette you had to wait for at least five minutes. Coming to the other items on the spread, masala dosa with the red chutney was out of the world ! It was small, bangalore-styled dosa, slightly thick, but crispy. Vada was crispy and good. Coconut chutney was good. Poori masala was just ok. Paratha was good. Finished it off with black coffee and it was good. Overall, good breakfast, but in terms of service, they had to step up big time !
