Hotel Saravana Bhavan restaurant is one of the nicest places to eat in Chennai Central. Meals in trains, IRCTC food, other outlets selling dosa, biriyani, etc doesn’t seem to impress the customer these days. A known name, good reliable food is far more relaxing than venturing with unknown places and experiencing the after-effects.
This restaurant is located right in the entrance to platforms 10 and 11, beside the information board. There is a self-service in the ground floor and a normal AC dining in the first floor. The restaurant can be a bit cramped with passengers carrying their luggage, but the food, needless to say tastes great !
I had a poori masala, the poori was a bit oily, but did not mind it, tasted great. Chappathi was a sort of let down, it was hard and not as soft as it is normally in HSB. Ended the meal with a badam kheer. It was good.
So overall, nice food before I boarded the train. Based on the train timing, I have taken food parcel to have in the train. Since this place opened, I do not have to worry about having good food in the train!
Definitely worth a try !
