Ecstatic after watching Kabali 10AM Special show at Albert Theater, wanted to ensure that the stomach was as happy as the mind. It was lunch time, and I was with a few friends, one of whom was from Triplicane. Asked him to suggest a place for Biryani and we headed to Amirunnisa. It was Friday afternoon and it was probably closed for prayer. I’ve had biryani at Amirunnisa a few times on earlier visits to Triplicane, so decided to go to to Five Star Chicken Biryani instead. This is located just a little ahead from this place.
Friends started with Half plate of Chicken Biryani each and I ordered Half Kuska. They only have Chicken Biryani, so I did not have to explicitly ask for Chicken Kuska. Ordered 1 Tandoori Chicken Half. This is a very small place for dine-in, not the most comfortable of places that you would have seen, but manageable. The Biryani tasted wonderful, less spicy, nice aroma of meat cooked with the rice, very flavorsome. They served generous portion of Raita and Brinjal Gravy. Raita was just onions with very little curd, but was good. Brinjal gravy was good too.
Meanwhile Tandoori chicken was served. Bright Orange and green, a bit scary use of colors though. In fact it was like some new Nike or Adidas merchandise with fluoroscent Orange and Green 😛 Tandoori Chicken tasted good, I steered clear of the green chutney.
Friends went with a Quarter plate of Biryani each while I asked for a Quarter Kuska. With this we were done. I liked it so much that decided to do a takeaway. Ordered 1 Half Biryani and 1 Half Kuska to be packed for takeaway.
A wonderful satisfying meal, set us back by 650 bucks overall. Half plate Biryani is 90 bucks and Kuska not sure, Quarter plate Biryani is 60 bucks and Kuska is 40 bucks, Tandoori chicken is 140 bucks. MAGIZHCHI 🙂
